Recognized on the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines and introduced as an effective acne treatment in the 1930s, benzoyl peroxide is a proven, effective medicinal ingredient in the Benzagel® family of acne treatment products.
Benzoyl Peroxide works in two ways. First, it eliminates acne-causing bacteria and unclogs pores by clearing away dead skin cells. Second, it adds oxygen to the skin, which removes Propionibacterium acne bacteria’s ability to cause redness and inflammation to acne spots.
Wash hands with non-medicated soap (contains no benzoyl peroxide). Apply twice daily or as directed by a health care practitioner.
Fair-skinned individuals should begin with one application. For more severe cases, or if substantial improvement is not apparent within 3-4 weeks, consult a health care practitioner.
For external use only.
Using other topical acne drugs at the same time or immediately following use of this product may increase dryness, redness or irritation of the skin. If this occurs, only one product should be used unless directed by a health care practitioner.
Discontinue use if excessive skin irritation develops or increases. If irritation persists, consult a health care practitioner. Avoid contact with eyes, lips, mouth and nostril/ if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. This product may bleach hair or dyed fabrics.
Remember to wash your hands regularly and avoid touching your face unnecessarily. The transfer of oil and bacteria from your fingers to your face can result in clogged pores and acne breakouts.
