5 Steps to Having a Good Prom, With or Without Acne-Free Skin
1. You Don’t Need a Date
It’s that time of year when you and your friends are starting to think about dates for prom. Maybe you are waiting for someone to ask you, or maybe you are waiting to ask someone, but try not to stress too much about getting a date. Remember that stress can worsen acne. Going to the prom with a group of friends can be a lot of fun too but if there is a special someone you’re thinking of, make a point to ask them to the dance.
2. Keep Up Your Regular Skin Care Routine
Prom is also a time when your friends and family will be taking a tonne of photos, so there is a bit more pressure than usual to have clear skin. It may be tempting to try a new product that promises to clear up acne and eliminate pimples. However, acne treatments usually require 6 to 8 weeks in order to achieve a full benefit, so it is important to allow sufficient time for the product to work. If you don’t have that much time until your prom night, then stick to what you currently use.
3. Add a Stress Reducer to Your Day
Worrying about prom can create sleepless nights or increased stress, and this may worsen acne. A few weeks (or days if you don’t have weeks) before prom, add a stress reducer into your routine to help you relax. It could be anything from stretching, journaling before bed, or kicking back with a warm mug of green tea.
4. Be Comfortable
Prom should be special for you. It’s not about doing things that other people are doing. It’s about being yourself, and having a great night with your friends.

Thinking twice about the after-party? You don’t have to go if you don’t want to.
Don’t want to dance with your old locker partner? Tell them you’re not into it.
