How to Spring Clean Your Life… and Look!
Spring is a time of renewal. It’s a season of growth, change, and a chance for a new beginning. And one of the best ways that you can give yourself the opportunity to take advantage of the season is with Spring Cleaning!
Spring Cleaning is about more than freshly mopped floors and clean windows. It’s a chance to evaluate the things in your life, and which you want to keep and which need to be removed so you can live your happiest life.
Here’s a great exercise in Spring Cleaning that everyone can do at home… pretend you’re moving. Really, pretend that you’ve got a move coming up and you’re going to have to pack everything.
Now, look at everything you own and split things up into 3 categories,
1) Must keep
2) Would be nice to keep
3) Don’t need to keep
It sounds easy, but it isn’t, so you really need to be honest with yourself when you’re going through this process. If you’ve got important things that you use all the time, or mementos that remind you of friends and family, they can stay.
Tip: Spring is a good time to refresh your skin care routine too. Benzagel Cleansa-Wipes are super portable and fit easily in your purse… which you should also clean out for spring!

But if you’ve got your 8th grade science project or an old poster from a band you loved 8 years ago, but don’t love anymore, you have to throw it away!
It’s also a process that you can use with your clothes. If you open your closet and are honest with yourself, you’re going to find pieces that…
1) You love and wear all the time
2) You like and wear sometimes
3) You don’t love, don’t fit, and can’t remember why you bought it in the first place
The clothes that fall in the 3rd category have to go. You can pass them on to friends, you can bag them up and donate them to charity, or you can throw the old, worn out pieces away. No matter which you choose, they really have to go!
Tip: For many people Spring means the end of dry skin, but to help keep your skin healthy we recommend that you continue moisturizing with natural products like Shea Butter, or other non-comedogenic options.
If you go through this exercise in your bedroom and around the house you’ll find that things are less cluttered, cleaner, and ready for you to take on the new season with a fresh start.
