Winter is coming, whether you’re ready for it or not. And that means that it’s time to change your routine and outfits for the cold season.

To help you get ready for the new season, we’ve got some tips and thoughts that can help you be prepared, comfortable, and free from acne breakouts as we all move together into the winter.

1) Dress in Layers!

When it comes to staying warm, dressing in layers is the way to go. You have the option of unzipping a jacket and sweater if you feel yourself heating up. But you can also pull up a hood and feel comfortable and cozy if the temperature drops and the wind starts to blow. You’re better off having 1 too many layers than 1 too few!

2) Fashion Under Function!

Yes, we all want to look good no matter what time of year it is. But when it gets cold outside and the sun goes down earlier and earlier in the evening, you’re going to want a warm coat. But that doesn’t mean you can’t wear something that looks great underneath! The reveal when you walk in the door and take off your coat is going to be awesome.

3) Always Have Gloves or Mittens!

If you don’t feel like you need them, keep them in your pockets or backpack. But when your fingers start to go numb and your knuckles look a little blue, you’re going to want to slip your hands into a nice pair of warm gloves or mittens.

4) Have a Scarf and Toque You Love!

Just like your pair of mittens, you can store a scarf and toque in your bag when you’re not wearing them. And if you’re worried about hat head, keep a comb or brush in your bag too. If you have long hair, wrap some hair ties around the handle so you’ll always have a hair tie when you need it. You’ll be warm when it’s cold, and you’ll be prepared to look your best when you get inside.

5) Wash Everything!

To help fight pimples and zit breakouts this winter, you need to wash your gloves, mittens, toque, and scarf regularly. All of these pieces are going to collect dirt and oil throughout the season, and they come into contact with your face and neck, which can lead to clogged pores. Keep your winter gear clean, swap them out for your back-ups, stay on a regular schedule, and you will have the upper hand against winter acne!

Stay Warm! Use the tips that we have listed here, other ideas that you already have, or winter tricks that your mom has passed down to you. Staying warm and fighting breakouts is going to keep you happier, healthier, and more comfortable this winter. So bundle up, grab a hot chocolate, and enjoy the season as much as you can!
